Happy Meals, Sad Mom

A small, silly rant:

Sigh. Why is it that I get the evil eye whenever I forego the children's menu at a restaurant and head straight to the adult section where, usually, real food exists? Why is it that people feel compelled to order their kids' dinner from the children's menu? As if the MPs (Menu Police) will pull up in a clown-like police car, file out, and bop parents on the head if they order, GASP, a grilled chicken dinner with soup and salad for their child?

Although my children enjoy the occasional mac-n-cheese, hot dog, nugget, pizza, or cheeseburger meal, they truly love adult meals too. I promise I'm not robbing them of their childhood by letting them enjoy chicken fajitas or shrimp Caesar salad! It really doesn't bother me all that much what other people feed their children, but at least be opened minded about the fact that you don't have to feed them strictly from the children's menu. It's not a crime. HONEST!
